Ive run an lpt for 9 years and loved it to bits, being as its the low pressure jobby, yes, the engine was less stressed so fuel economy was good [not brilliant], the engine only got "boosted" when you revved it, so less loading than an HPT, which boosts all the time. if you get the chance....road test both before deciding.
