If the top nut is so tight that it doesn't loosen, take the complete strut assembly off and cut the spring with a cutting disc on a grinder. Just be mindful of pieces of disc flying at you at ten zillion mph.LOL. Wont be doing THAT again in a hurry! I know, I know but it was a Sunday n I needed the car for Monday.
