Its not the octane that makes your car run "better".
Its because the higher octane fuels are more expensive, and they are more expensive because they contain different additive packages that improve combustion and give a faster, more uniform flame front, and that in turn is beneficial for power and economy.
E10 is 95 RON, so is no different in that regard to current 95 RON unleaded.
Acdording to Volvo all their cars manufacturered since 1976 are E10 compliant, provided all parts that come into contact with the liquid fuel are genuine Volvo, so there is not much for us Volvo owners to get excited about.
