Thanks - I have reluctantly paid him his £90 diag fee and got the car back.

This is what was on the invoice

Investigated hissing noise and vehicle stuttering whilst driving, connected the diagnostic machine and checked for stored fault codes, found turbocharger boost pressure fault. Raised on the ramp and checked the charge air system, removed covers etc to gain access, found the intercooler pipe at the turbocharger broken, replacement pipe required and a recommend a forced re-generation afterwards for the DPF

So it's the intercooler pipe at the turbocharger. Is this still one of the rubber turbo pipes? I might have a go at changing it myself if its not too difficult to access.
