Long time listener, first time caller ... but just a comment that odd mismatches like this occurred on occasion Down Under with the Volvo reconditioned exchange-engine program. I don't think you always got back
exactly what you were exchanging.
Which must have been a maintenance nightmare for mechanic's workshops on occasion ... I guess by the time you wanted a replacement engine it was waaaay out of warranty, so maybe it wasn't that important.
