As I have been told it is a sealed unit and does not need changing and will last the lifetime of the car BUT who is to say that the lifetime of the car is when the gearbox blows up because of 10 year old worn out oil??? DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY KNOWLEDGE ON THE SUBJECT
Who told you that they were sealed for life , volvo wouldn't have . Volvo have Gearbox oil servicing options
yes the first thing is change the oil and make sure the gearbox software is up to date . then run it for a few days ..
If you have just bought it I guess you have bought someone else's problem .
if that doesn't help there are other options . see how it goes.
