Default new fuel filter just fitted !

Yes, exciting times !

The 240 drove faultlessly back from the garage today, but to be fair it drove faultlessly to the garage as well.

The mechanic told me that the filter he removed was in a poor condition, with rust and brownish liquid present when he removed it.

He was receptive to the idea that maybe water in the tank is causing the problem and that adding some Wynns Dry Fuel could help, so I'll do that.

He suggested that failing that it would be worth checking out the ignition rotor for signs of wear, that this is a component that when aged can work intermittently.

So that's where I'm at, I'll just start regarding the 240 as completely reliable until events prove otherwise.

I'll check the thread periodically for any further insights, and if the problem re-occurs I'll be back in touch !

Once again many thanks to all posters, I don't know much about 240s but I really like them and have the will to learn, and you've been really supportive.
