My car had the same problem and I found the carpet needs to be rolled back and the water squeezed out of the sponge backing, this holds a good deal of water. If you keep the carpet rolled back and the blower on footwell setting it will help speed up drying and when it rains again you can shine a torch to see where the water is dripping. If you approach Volvo UK they should help you out but they will direct you to your dealer. I was concerned not only about the water damage but also the safety aspect. Volvo said there was no recall but my local dealer was unable to help, so I was left to sort it out myself. This poorly bonded screen issue goes back many years and there is plenty of comments on this issue on the internet.
