Hi all,
I have a 2011 XC60 D3 diesel SE. It has not had problems for the last 4 years since I bought it,except that the stop/start would stop but not restart again (more of a stop/stall ).

In the last few weeks the car has started to have re-start problems on the 5th+ start up(s) of the day, especially after a longish journey. It labours in the start and often needs a 2-3 attempts. The engine makes a whirling sound and obviously strains the battery. It is getting to the point when it will completely fail.

Has anybody else experienced this problem? or even better, solved it?
