Hi,
Juts had my XC90 (2001 D5) serviced at a Volvo independent and the garage have said that I need a replacement power steering pump. They reckon its around £650 fitted.

My questions are whether the job is difficult to do it yourself? Is it an involve task with moving loads of ancillaries? I am fairly competent but are there any guides? Struggling to find online.

Second question is, would you recommend buying a reconditioned pump and then going to a garage for them to fit them self? is it a specialist Volvo task or could any car garage do it if i gave them the right pump? What would a garage roughly charge just for labour?
