Is this still happening? Here is what you need to do:

Open the bonnet, and leave it open. Close all doors and windows. Arm the alarm using the fob, not they key. The alarm should lock the doors for you. After a few seconds, the dashboard alarm LED will blink occasionally to deter theives.

Use the key, NOT THE FOB, to unlock the door. Open the door. The alarm should sound.

Does it? Or not?

Do this for both doors, then report back what happens.
