Sort of. Although if the oil is completely drained and then the correct volume is added this needn't be a problem. It all depends if the garage understood that the system readings are inaccurate until the system has updated itself (which it seems they weren't?).
But Volvo still messed up mine by almost certainly not adding enough oil before forcing a reset onto the system using VIDA.
