Hi all,
Hoping to get bit of help after a little issue.
I've got a boat with the volvo 5 cylinder 2.4 engine with only 100 hours of running on it and unfortunately in rough seas the dipstick decided it would rather fly out than stay in the engine so ran low on oil.
I've now got a ticking noise which I assume is from the lifters as it sounds like it is from the top end by sounds of it.
Unfortunately there is no oil pressure warnings on the marine engines (yes, stupid, thanks volvo for that gem).
Im wonder how easy it is to throw new lifters and rocker arms in it as its cheap enough to try it, I've no idea on if they need adjusting or a case of just putting them in? Unfortunately the marine manual doesn't want you doing this stuff so any help be great.
