Agree with this. The subframe bushings have reinforced rubber that works 'sideways' so the side movement of the subframe should be well controlled. In opposition, the front wishbone bush has side gaps and allows for side movement. Anything that will fill these gaps will give a noticeably more direct steering and eliminate a significant amount of 'sloppiness'. I think Volvo designed the front wishbone bush with side gaps to allow for a more 'detached' steering feeling, better perhaps for older drivers who don't want too much involvement in driving.
