Woohoo! I'd put 'new' batteries in (they had sat indoors in the packet for some time) and it hadn't worked which is when I started this thread

I decided to buy more new batteries and then try reprogramming the fob before I splurged out on a new fob and IT WORKED!

New batteries plus reprogramming solved this issue!

I can now keep that money towards more important bits that I need to replace on the car!

Edited to say it is from exactly the same spot outside my garage where I park now that I had my lovely 740 (without alarm) stolen in 2008 so I have been very worried without the little red flashing light in the windscreen to deter thieves! Now I can sleep easy!
