Just to complete the discussion, I had the windscreen resealed today. The seal along the top of the screen was almost completely failed. When they removed the screen they used a wire with handles at both ends to 'saw' through the seal from both sides of the screen. It didn't need any sawing for most of the top of the screen. I am surprised how little water had come in given how little was sealed. He said that there was no primer, which probably explains why it failed. The screen is original so it must have been like that from the factory. Has anyone had any luck in getting Volvo to comtribute to the cost, given that it is clearly a manufacturing fault?
