T5 S40's are not that bad on fuel really, my Bro in-law has an Audi 2.0FSi and is getting the same MPG as me on the same kinda usage. The beauty of the T5 is that it doesn't mind being pootled around at very low revs - a bit like a diesel but it pulls out a massive trump card when overtaking safely.

I hope you get a buyer, and you will, and it'll be right up their street for sure (especially at the price).

I think in this current climate the T5 makes a stonking 'weekender' - you get the benefit of driving a modern £23K car with (tunable) 220bhp for less than £6K
