So it is the small square badge, on a black grill, with silver trim. The one that came off my car was bigger, square but badly discoloured (the badge)...the egg crate part of the grille being a silvery kind of colour.

Yes, thanks. I wonder if your original grill was a Volvo one. I always thought there was just one version of the suare badge. I've nevr had a Volvo grill discolour either. All mine have lasted extremely well.
