i have no issues with my 5 cylinder D3, personally I think it's very quiet and smooth. I was given a brand new D2 for the day the other week when mine went in to the dealers for a couple of issues, all I can say is I'm so glad I didn't buy one as it felt really 'gutless' compared to bigger D3.
