On the newer cars a transmission reset can be done in software. This can sometimes cure problems like your gearbox has.
Your car is older then mine so I'm not sure which box is fitted but a software reset if possible would be a reasonably cheap job before looking at a recon box.
Double check you used the correct spec oil.
