Was flitting between threads and totally forgot you were transferring A/C from one the the other!
The thing is, if only one hose was connected to the carb and the other just dangling in mid-air, it could go anywhere. I think you might have to have a hunt round the engine bay and try and find a "lost" looking hose that would connect with it.
Sorry i can't be more help on that one but i think you'll have to have a look yourself to try and find some more clues.
