Lease company response was uninspiring.

"I’ve just called the dealer, we are still showing the same dealer due date as previously advised. No movement there I’m afraid.

I’ve found it’s easier not to think too much into it, there seems to be no rhyme or reason behind the outputs of the factories at times! .... Obviously initially we/the dealers were not expecting the long lead time that we have been left with."

So, basically, we can't explain it, and we don't really want to try.
So disillusioned with the "new car" process.

The worst thing is once it arrives, I'll forget all about the delay and forgive Volvo/Dealer/Lease company for the broken promises.
