For what it is worth, the 140 parts manual says that on the up to 1972 140 models, the bumper and the rubber molding are the same for the 142, 144 and 145.

VP Autoparts does sell a reproduction up to 1972 bumper in stainless steel complete with moulding for a rather stiff price

For 1973 there was a one-off bumper. The North American market cars received the big bumper / basher things. Parts of the rest of the world (Oz and the Asian countries for sure) got a bumper that was bigger than the early bumper; but, not as big as the US market bumper. I seem to recall that this bumper had a groove in the rubber molding. Perhaps you got this one-off bumper and moulding?
