They’ve been improved by DPRK scientists. The front slam panels seem to have been lowered and the wings hinged down from their top rear mounts until they make contact with the doors, resulting in revolutionary panel gaps.

My theory is that they were all refitted at some stage in the 1990s and relaunched as superior DPRK-built cars. They’re all painted the same shades of dismal green and maroon, and they’re all similarly patinated inside and out.

Hubcaps have been remanufactured using advanced methods.

Here are some photographs I took in Pyongyang a few years ago. Sadly, I was removed by ‘NO PHOTO!’ guards before I could fully investigate the revolutionary improvements.
