I ended up getting a 17" donut spare from a 90s S60 and it's a fit.

I ran it on the car and it's smoother than expected..

The wheel is still slightly high for my space so I took out the factory floor and made a new one from a sheet of 15mm cabinet grade wood.

Without the ribs found under the original plus the hinges etc for the stowage divider it has built in I now have tons of depth.

I don't use the divider and have a rubber boot liner in the car in any case so it looks mint.

If I desire I can return the car to factory in a few minutes.

The wheel from memory is 125 60 17...

It is unrestrained so far but I am not concerned.

I simply placed a blanket in the base and put the tire with tools in the center of the wheel and folded the blanket up around it which seems snug as a bug etc.

I have the blanket to lay on should I need it which I hope to never use and the floor I made is slide in so I could in a pinch use it for something more substantial to lay or kneel on if the job calls for it.
