You clearly have Comms issues. Assuming everything was OK before you stared work, you must have broken the CAN somewhere. I would go down that route. An oscilloscope will help if you can get one.
Also check the CEM connector for water ingress.
Methodical diagnosis required, no guessing. Good luck.
