I would most certainly avoid Holland at the moment. The traffic has gotten really busy recently - they say because of the booming economy. On the A1 going from west to east for example there seem to be daily traffic jams. If you must go through Holland avoid travelling on Sundays (the trucks start to pile up as you get closer to Germany because they are not allowed to drive there on Sundays), Tuesdays and Thursdays are also busy traffic days because that's the start and end of the working week here (!)
