So far I've used my D3 between 1200 and 2000 revs in all gears and IMO it doesn't need to be thrashed to get the best out of it. Still running her in so not ventured much above the 2k mark yet !!
OK....when accelerating from 1200 in sixth it takes a second or two to wake up, but in the 600 miles I've done so far I continue to be amazed at the power, smoothness and flexibility of the 2 litre unit (in what is quite a big car).
And averaging 39.5 mpg according to the computer (half my running so far has been communting and the other motorway miles).
Jumped back in my Mondeo the other day...and quickly realised what a quality product this Volvo is....happy days !!
