An independent Volvo specialist is usually much cheaper than a main dealer. If you want to save money, there's your answer. Using a Volvo specialist won't affect your warranty (if you have one), as specialists use genuine parts.

It may help if you tell us where you're based? There's a place called Woodley in Berkshire and also in Cheshire... - Location is needed to recommend garages.

Don't bring it to any old garage... it has to be a specialist or dealer. Normal garages aren't equipped to work on these cars.

The dealer is the best place as they have all the processes and knowledge needed and give you free breakdown cover and whole car software updates which is very important with all the electronic control modules on these cars.

Technically it is a 90,000 mile / 5th year service which is a cambelt but in your case with low mileage It will not be done this time, so you will probably have it done on the 10 year belt service life later on unless you suddenly start doing large mileage. I would have the Volvo "Essential" service done which is a small basic service but add an Air filter and fuel filter .Have you full volvo service history? If so any dealer can print that out for you. if you want to save a bit have the pollen filter done every two years rather than let them change it every service.
