I need to get quotes for this soon. It does look more expensive than I thought it would be as well.
Do people recommend main dealers over independents as they think in the event of issues there is more recourse? |

You don't have to go to a main dealer to keep your warranty though. Independents can do the same at a fraction of the cost, but people are often under the illusion they have to go to the dealer. Sometimes people have service plans as part of a deal when they purchased a car. In that instance, it makes sense to go the dealer. My vote is independent, especially for an older car. I don't like the dealer network near me (Lookers) and I wouldn't trust them. I know not all dealers will be the same, but I haven't had a pleasant experience with Lookers. I will not let them touch my car.
