Default C70 d5 auto transmission drain plug

not looking for full swap out just drain and refill about 4L

can anyone point me in the direction of where the drain plug is, better still a picture

Many thanks much appreciated. I am a bit baffled to be honest. Looking at the video it doesnt appear hidden in a wheel arch or anything. So it should have been pretty clear when the sump cover was off for the oil and fiter change

Makes me wonder if there is a hidden story here.

I will order a new drain plug (30713956) then take the still images from the you tube video in and see what he says. I have receipts showing he has drained the oil before.

Doesn't sound too convincing when he didn't know where the drain plug was!

there is also another large nut dont mistake this for the drain plug as it holds the gear bands and it is very difficult to put back in. i would not trust a mechanic who can not find a drain plug . dose he not have auto data on his computer its a great tool to have.

I am really struggling to get my head round it all.

I have receipts from him, for at least 2 previous transmission oil changes, with no related, for example drive shaft work, being done.

There is a clearly some reason why he doesnt want to do the work.

I didnt think it was a difficult job so I can only think that something has gone wrong for him in the past, maybe on another car and he doesnt want to take the risk again or talk about it.

My only option is to get another mechanic to look at it and take it from there.

whatever his "reason" (excuse) for not wanting the income from the work , take it as a GOOD thing

when you find A n Other place/mechanic to do the work (without having to show them where the drain plug is ) DO make sure to ask them "in their opinion" has the ATF Actually been changed before.......

and Dont, regardless of the answer to the "has it been changed" go Back to the "cant do it" garage/mechanic at any point in the future.
