Aftermarket Volvo amp and Aerial Question

I just found out that in s40's theres a cable strapt to the roof of the boot that runs from the headunit... wonder if anyone knows where to get a convertor cable for this from so i can plug in a amp ?

and also I heard you can get a button that stops the aerial coming out when the sterio is on but cant find it in the uk.. any ideas?

Sorry - don't know the answer to your question but intrigued by this 'cable' strapped to the boot roof. I'm about to run a CD control cable (for a Blaupunkt) the length of the car. If I don't have to do this as there's a useable cable already there, that'll be one less hassle. Do you know if the cable you mention is for a CD changer or an amp?

I also ahve the same cable and always assumed it was for the changer not the amp, could be wrong though.

Never heard about the aerial button though, an interesting though as the Volvo's s40's do look a bit like RC car's or Dodgem's at times lol!

some not all S40's have the cd changer lead already run to the boot under the hat shelf ... S40 never had an external amplifier , although the radios had a socket for one ..
Your dealer should be able to supply you with an amplifier lead but you will need to sort out which wire does what at the amplifier end unless you use a volvo amplifier ,
All you need is an on/off switch in the blue antenna activation wire to make the aerial stay down ...
