Wanted - P1800S Door Glass Runner
Hi
I'm currently putting a new drivers side door skin on my RHD 1966 P1800S and found that the door glass runner (at the door handle end) is rather rusted and could do with replacing. Has anyone out there a reasonable one so I can fix now whilst the skin is off ? Cheers PJ |

Hi
I think I have one in extremely good condition for drivers side (I need to have a look as it might have gone missing in a "garage move"), I bought from Brookhouse. I even painted it black to prevent rust. I will need it in a few months time (done passenger's side, driver's side next job). If you have problem getting one quickly you can have it providing you replace it by the end of April. I am passing through Chichester on 5th Feb (sadly not in my '65 P1800S) - all those roundabouts... Cheers Pete

Many thanks for your offer Pete. Very generous. I did speak to Simon at Brookhouse to see if he had a good used one, but he'd just sold the last two he had and didn't have anymore in stock. If you do need one by April then I would have a bit of time to source a rust free one from overseas - such as the US. I know that there are a few of our american cousins who use this forum, so if they have a spare one then maybe they could get in touch with me.
Best regards PJ |

I looked at my part and think it is what you are after, as i said if you can replace it by April then you can have it. I am driving through chichester tomorrow afternoon.

Thanks again for your offer Pete. However, I'm not going to be at home on Monday as I've been called away. I also know that the door runners are quite hard to get hold of, so I may have trouble getting a replacement for you when you need it in April. I'm therefore going to carry out a temporary repair to mine and will try and pick up another one when I know of someone breaking this model. But thanks again.
