Default repairing rust hole on sill on V40

Any advice?

I have a V40 with a foot sized hole in the near-side sill. Okay with repairing it, but would like to ask: how does the valence (skirty bit attached to the sills) come off? Is this rivotted on or there bolts or screws? If the latter, how do I get to them and are they simple to replace?
Cheers for your advice.

Dunno mate - check in the manual? - but why have you got a rust hole the size of your foot in the sill? Have you been parked in the sea? How many miles? You must have the only rusty S/V40 I've heard of in that area (rear arches and fuel cap mounting plate granted).

I have a 99 T4, bonnet chip went rusty, rear arch has a spot which is normal, rear filler cap recess about the size of a five pence piece, other than that spot on. It not even rusted where the retard in the tyre place nearly out his jack through the floor!!! They're well built, all i can imagine is it been knocked in that area before???
