RE: Clutch/ex-police cars!
The clutch on my V70 T5 was still going strong after 175000 miles. The reason for your clutch failure lies with the previous keeper. Police cars often do high speed reversing along hard shoulders, pull cars out of ditches, travel at twice the legal speed limit, whilst slipping the clutch for a bit more acceleration, and of course generally working hard for a living.
I don't thing you need a heavy duty clutch, however if you do want one, contact Vee Clutch Plates on 01484 721409. |

RE: Clutch/ex-police cars!
With regards to clutches on T5 engined cars, hearing that one covered 175,000 miles reassures me. My recently purchased C70 T5 had covered around 43,000 when I got it, and I was told how much a replacement clutch would cost. I'm like 'Driving Miss Daisy' anyway, with only the occasional bit of spirited accelleration which is never from a standstill. Even then, I break out in a sweat at how much Optimax/ 225/45 rubber/ clutch lining got used each time the loud pedal got pressed a little hard (-:
