1991 240 power steering fluid reservoir
I know I seem a bit obsessed with reservoirs but I'm working my way through my haynes manual fluid checks.
This time my power steering reservoir lid doesnt seem to fit very tightly. It goes on with two bits either side which mate with two slots in the reservoir opening and then you can tighten it to a point but then it just clicks and comes undone again. It can be set reasonably tight but doesn't seem anywhere like watertight. Should this be a tight fit like the oil/brake fluid cap ? Or is this loose ish fit standard practice. Regards Ben |

Power steering fluid reservoir cap
This should be a tight fit. It sounds like either the thread on the cap has broken or the cap has been overtightened at some time and has damaged the thread on the neck of the reservoir.
