Air con and specs
Hello ,
wonder if any one knows about the 240 in its final incarnation. I have been looking at several 240's with air conditioning, but they do n't look any thing like dash board fitted to the 260 or the 240 my friends have in the USA apparentley it came as standard in USA and some European countries( or even the ones I have seeen in Australia) in fact they look like they were fitted by an after market company. Can any one enlighten me? Did they put a turbo diesel in the 240? there is 240 LHD near were I live that is diesel , it has a turbo badge on it was wondering if that was just wishfful thinking on the owners part!! |

I believe there was a TD 240 as I've seen a L plate with TD on it and it sounds like a diesel.
I have also seen a very rare N Plate trundling around Norwich although this doesn't say TDi as it's a petrol. Air con yes not sure if it was a special order or standard or even aftermarket like Schnizer or M spec or Rspec. My 1991 240 had air con never used it as it ate petrol like it was an ocean going tanker. Charlotte |

Original there is no Turbo diesel in a 240. Only the D24 block. And Yes a 240 in the final years 1991 -1993 all the GLE or SE had AirCon. standard.
