945SE D24TIC dash/running lights
I keep driving the car at night with only the running lights on even passed Mr Plod on the Mway the other night without my 'proper' lights on - silly boy is me.
Now can i disconnect the running lights and the dash lights too? Driving too many cars means that the old brain sees the dash lights on and think the lights are on too when really all that is on is the running lights. I think i could and did do this on the 855 but i am told that i cant do this on the 945 thanks

Hi,
There is a pretty big difference between the "side lights" and DRL on the 900's and the main lights.. so you should be able to tell the difference.. Maybe more difficult with the light increasing now.. However, if it is an issue, what you can do is turn the light on and leave them on... That way your lights will be on anyway so shouldn't attract the attention of the police.. I believe that you maybe able to remove a fuse for this light function, not sure which one.. Des. . .

yep, I have had the same problem too and found the best solution was to just keep the lights on all the time.
I find that it's when I start a journey in an area lit by streetlamps that I forget I am only on DRL Regards TFB |

to bump an oldie, can this be 'fixed' by cutting the two yellow and white wires in the light switch?

I tried to work this out when I first got my car. What does cutting the wires do. Will that switch off the sidelights, daytime run lights or both ? You can stop the DRL's by unplugging the relay.
I will have a look at the wiring diagram again as this has always annoyed me. I'm all for being seen etc but I know when to switch them on ! |

You could fit a light swith from an early 740.
I had an electrical problem a couple of years ago and had to fit a 'new' second hand light switch from my old 740 spares car. Now I don't have DRL's on my 940. |

You can remove the fuse for the DRL's, its the left inner of the 4 front fuses

Hi,
I may be barking up the completely wrong tree, but isn't there a way to turn off the running lights permanently? Why am I thinking it was somthing along the lines of 3 repeated ignition switch on/offs? Anyone else? Cheers, Rich |
