2008 S40 dash temp sensor
Any ideas where the sensor will be as i am getting reading as if i am in the arctic the i am in the sahara desert no that i need it but would like it to be right

It's that little nipple bulging from under the NS rear view mirror.. but leave it alone, the fault is not in the sensor.
Erratic readings mean that the door harness has been congested with water, it now needs to be pulled out and the pins need to be thoroughly cleaned and de-oxidized.. you may then apply some contact grease. This is how it's done> btw., supprised to see this still happening on a 2008 model, that harness has been revised and a gold plated one was introduced.

I've just started getting arctic readings from my 2008 V50, so thanks for this. I shall investigate before taking it to the stealers.
