850 TDI Saloon

I have for sale my 850 2.5 TDI 1996 in silver. I have used the car soley for driving on the motorway commute between Shropshire and London. I'm selling because I have bought another Volvo for this purpose and my wife insists on a 3 car limit, so she has to go!

202k miles
Tax expires end of Dec
MOT expires September 2012
Cambelt changed @ 186675

The car has been well maintained and I have a file full of paperwork to prove it. I average 44mpg. Recent new rear tyres.

Spec includes:
- half black leather
- heated seats and wing mirrors
- electric windows, sunroof and wing mirrors
- air con which works wonderfully well
- remote central locking
- integral child seat
- tow bar and single electrics which has I have used with a bike carrier
- SIPS, ABS, traction control
- Trip computer

It will probably benefit from a new battery in the near future and at least 1 front tyre. It has some scratches and marks but nothing untoward.

In short this will be a fantastically comfortable and reliable car for the next owner.

Looking at £750 ono. Car is located 8 miles off jnc 11 of M6, heading towards Telford.

I will leave it open to the forum first and then resort to eBay if no serious interest. Please pm any questions and I will provide contact number via PM to anyone interested.

Just to add, I could possibly meet anyone who is seriously interested at their house or mutually convienient location if the location is anywhere down the M6,M40 or M1 corridors.

Slightly surprised you've not had much interest with this MonkeyMatt, people might be put off by the highish mileage (even though we all know different!)

I have to say the mileage could concern some, but these units really are good for twice the mileage - it sounds spot on. Tbh, it sounds better than my D5 which has half the mileage.

Well it didn't sell on eBay, so on the basis it's only worth what someone will give you for it, I must be asking too much! Any thoughts and value - £600-650?

Im fairly suprised this didnt sell on ebay. They regularly go on there for around the £900 mark, usually with the same mileage and some are far far tattier...

The ones I've kept an eye on are the wagons though, maybe their more desirable ??

i may be interested, im trying to get shot of my god awful mk2 mondeo at the moment. if you know anyone who wants one, it could be benifical for us all. im not to familir with the tdi's what sort of mpg do they return on motorway miles? i ask as im a nurse and need reliability and good mpg
