Climate Control Module not working
Hi
I bought my first Volvo (used) last year and it is a great drive. The Climate Control Module stopped working shortly after purchase - a fuse was replaced that had blown and all okay until March 10 2023. 2008 V70 Diesel 2.5 litre 175 bhp The CCM stopped working and not the fuse this time - I have no aptitude for the practical side including mechanics and electronics. I am potentially facing a large bill or am I? Could it just be a case of replacing the unit itself? As with most of my car related problems over the years - I dont know whether or not I am being conned by repair people. What would be useful (if any forum users would be kind), is a list of possible faults that can be checked off. All of the fuses in the vehicle have been checked by an electrician neighbour/friend and none have blown. One thing my friend noted - when the key was inserted - there was no electrical current picked up. Not sure whether this is significant. Everything else apart from the CCM (including Radio etc), works fine. I really dont want to scrap the car but if it rains or is cold - misting up is a problem. Thanks |

Hello,
I have kind of the same problem here, with my XC70 3.2 from 2008. Since 2 weeks, my fuse No. 26 in the passenger side keeps blowing. 2 years ago I had the alarm disconnected by Volvo on my request, so it seems like this wouldn't be the problem. I tried to disconnect all connections to the CCM (audio, climate control, ambient thermostat) but the fuse still blowed. It does blow when I'm driving, but also when I don't drive. A month ago, I had my wash liquid reservoir leaking, could it be related to the Siren / ECC fuse issue ? Thank you for your help! |
