Must do mine - I did my previous car (Alfa 159 1.9 Opel turbo diesel) and it made a huge difference to starting - an easy job on that engine, but haven't even looked to see how hard it is to do it on a D3/4/5 five cylinder...

D5 plugs? As long as the engine is hot/warm, Shouldn't be a problem. I've only snapped plugs on merc engines. I've had plugs out on a few d5's. Give them a dosing of a penetrant like plus gas, not WD40 a few days on the run up. Be gentle and Preferably replace all 5 of them. Get one out and order the same as they are all different voltages. Chances are if you get a 12v one and they are 4.4v, you'll have issues or vice versa.
Don't buy cheap either, buy genuine bosch.

Why hard? On my d5 they are reachable. Just to remove big hose of the way. And please do use torque wrench. If you dont know specs, I eill send you tonight. I also use copper grease on threads

Definitely the easiest engine I have had to plugs on. Don't change 1, do all 5.

Try a d24Tic! Can guarantee 1-4 are changed, 5 and 6 are always left in there!
