Submersible waterpumps for Carver/Truma
My 'van is old, really old, probably about '93 or so.
The water system is a Carver Crystal Filter type and I need to purchase a new water pump for it. The only ones I can find are Truma Crystal II. I'm assuming there's some affiliation with Carver and Truma and logically I'm guessing that the system in my van is older that the Truma II. So, my question is; will a pump for a Truma Crystal II fit and work with a Carver Crystal Filter system? The physical connection looks the same but that's no guarantee in my experience. Cheers.

Very possibly! Thank you.
What type/manufacturer is it? Is it new or used and would you be able to send a pic or two? And price, of course - that's quite important I would have thought, lol. Sorry for being a bit OTT but I have no clue about these things. Cheers, Chris

Truma took Carver over some years ago and all their products are now badged as Truma.
There are 2 different systems; the old Crystal and the later Watermaster: the pumps are interchangeable, but they have different fittings on the end of the hose that plugs into the caravan. The cheapest repair is to buy a bare pump and reuse the hose and plug from the old one; it is quite easy to do and saves a lot of money over the cost of a complete assembly. Some dealers are selling German made pumps that they claim to be much more reliable than the Truma ones; I have not tried one yet but would consider it when I next need to buy a pump as the Truma / Carver ones are not particularly good. I always carry a spare because they always fail at the most inconvenient time and I rarely get more than a 2 or 3 years out of a pump, sometimes much less. The main cause of failure is allowing them to run dry, even just half a minute or so is enough to ruin a pump.

Reich
My main bitch about the Carver/Truma ones are that they dribble rather than gush. The Reichs produce a far better shower. Mr Ebay will supply at about 20 squid, maybe 30.
