Rear brakes on 440 k-reg 1.6
Had a look on forum, but see no replies or questions concerning rear brakes...
I hav just fitted new shoes on rear, and even though all self adjusters are working fine, ( it seems a limp idea of self adjusting,) and to make things worse they worked fine before, yet according to self help manuals...they were fitted wrong...so i fitted them the way they should be fitted, but they wont adjust... ( the thin slither of metal that should click the adjuster, is nowhere near the click mechnaism )..!! ps: on the new shoes , the pin built onto shoe was just fitted on its own...on old shoes it was held in place with split washer... any ideas...? Rear brakes
had a similar problem myself on my old k reg 440 the trick is to heat the metal arms up then carefully bend them until they touch the adjuster wheel. Be warned they can and do snap quite easily so you may want to have some spare ones in case this happens. Hope this info helps.
