Default V40 Boot spoiler

Am i right in thinking my V40's boot spoiler is only held on with 2 nuts/bolts that are hidden under the black circular stickers on the inside of the boot lid? if so im going to remove it so i can polish the boot lid properly.

cheers

Yes, two bolts (one on each side) as well as sticky pads. So if you remove the spoiler you will have to either replace the pads or use some clear silicone.

Not the best idea removing it in my opinion.

As gatos says "leave alone".

I did a How To on replacing the spoiler on the V40 T4 as mine had bad lacquer lifting so i removed to respray.

Yes, there are 2 bolts but the sticky double side large pads are a b*****d to get off and i did it on a hot day about 80 degrees so the pad would be more flexible but it didn`t make much difference to the removal time.

It may take you about at least an hour per pad then you have to get the sticky off which it leaves behind. You can`t use thinners as it melts the paint so i used Methalyted Spirits which melts the glue slower but doesn`t melt or mark the paint as quick either.

Up to you , but be wary!

Just found it here.....

Theres a product sold in North America called goo gone that removes all the adhesive and its safe for all kinds of paint/surface.

The best weapon for removing the goo is a heat gun ( use cautiously) or a manual hair dryer.
