Door pin disconnected: how to fix? [video]

Hello,

You may have read my posts on fixing a door handle. Well, upon removing the door card to investigate, the locking pin became disconnected and now just flops about. I can feel underneath it's not connected to anything. Video What are the steps to re-attach?

Do I need to remove the entire black door cover? Pic
Or can I do it by just removing the lock mechanism? Pic

I couldn't find a video on YouTube which covered the steps.

I couldn't find a video on YouTube which covered the steps.

The pin has almost certainly unclipped itself from the lock unit. If you watch this video, it shows how to reconnect it - watch at 18mins in the video.

You do need to remove the panel and lock unit from the door. It is quite fiddly, be careful not to break the clip! Good luck with it.
