Lately when I accelerate hard in my '12 S40 D4 R Design (20 k miles) I sometimes get what feels like clutch slipping (foot down: revs increase but not speed, then revs decrease and car accelerates more slowly and revs increase slowly). Is this what the manual refers to as the DSTC 'pulsing'? Also, when I accelerate with the + button on the cruise control (usually around 60-70 mph), the acceleration sometimes cuts out and the car starts to slow down. What about the idea that the DSTC will 'pulse' under hard acceleration (according to owner's manual) if it senses that one of the driving wheels is about start skidding? The reason I ask is that these problems only started after we had the winter tyres swapped for summer ones (at Volvo dealer). If the summer tyres are slightly different diameters on the front (driving) wheels, the the DSTC might interpret this as a potential skid and take control?
