Careful guys.

Personally, I don't see the problem with anyone expressing what is after all, at the end of the day, merely an opinion.

However, remember that it is all too easy to offend some people and word of what is posted here seems to reach the ears of the sellers on eBay very easily.....

Later.

It's a good point Dan. I left the original post at the same time as the post that offended Katie (the T5-R for sale that was actually a T5).

Whilst all we are doing here is expressing an opinion (as you say), so is the person who modified the car in the first place. They are expressing their opinion visually in the mods they've made and I hope my post would not be taken as offensive to them in any way and more as the expression of my opinion that I'm not really a fan of doing stuff like that to a car.

As the saying goes, whatever floats your boat. Everyone likes different things and the world would be a boring place if we were all the same.

Regards

Andy

i was just wondering if some of you think "boy-racer" when you've seen pictures of my car because i've fitted bigger wheels, & as some will know i've filled the boot with audio equipment?

i think if you look in the performance forum you'll find a fair few cars with the same sort of mods (or what people would like to do) Alloys, leather re-trim, engine mods, mesh grill (ok, he's gone OTT with the neons to be fair).

He may be on a smaller budget & couldn't stretch to an 850, or may just have prefered the oldder shape. But at the end of the day as the price for secondhand T-5's keeps coming down i can see more Nova stereotype drivers coming over to Volvo

Covcrew,

I've no doubt that some people do and some people don't.

IMHO, some modest mods can be attractive, enhancing the look of a car. Excessive mods can just look downright stupid. Wheels have to actually suit a car - all too often one sees cars with massive wheels that just do not suit the car at all and it doesn't enhance it's appearance at all. The wheels on your T5 look OK to me although personally I'd prefer Titans.

With regards to sound systems. Again, personally, I've never really seen to point of huge amps, speakers and bass boxes filling a car. Afterall, there's only so loud one can listen to music before it becomes painful and more importantly, dangerous. However, people do enjoy showing their cars to likeminded people and this is where the "whatever floats your boat" comes into it. I have no interest in Max Power style mods and massive audio systems and therefore don't attend Max Power and similar shows. However, many people do like such things and are free to go to such shows.

A friend of mine added so much sound stuff to his car that every time a bass note hit his lights would dim. He had to add some extra equipment to regulate the power flow!

Regards

Andy

I'd better keep my boot lid shut aswell then as i've also filled it with a rather loud sound system and don't have much of a boot anymore.

I'll have to hurry up and get my spoiler sprayed aswell as its a totally differant colour to car and has brake light missing out of it.

I say everyone to there selves on the modding side of thinks personally am not to keen on the red dash but would imagine it wasn't the easist thing to do.
