Default cam belt failure

Is the failure of cambelt terminal on a 2.3 940, I am told that some cars have a survival factor?

Maybe... It depends upon which engine.

I'm open to correction, but I think the 8 valve 2.3 engine is a non-interference type, whereas the 16 valve is interference. In other words if you have an 8 valve engine you should be ok

Turbo versions are more likely to survive as they have a lower compression ratio. Sometimes you are unlucky and can suffer a bent valve stem or two.

All the best, Peter.
