Default Oh balls - what a mistake to make

Hi Guys,
I've just come back from the petrol station (about 2 miles) after topping up the car with 26L of unleaded. This woudl be OK but its a diesel engine. I have realsied my mistake and just gone back out to the car - was going to try a syphon the fuel out. tried to back car into garage but it does not start (didn't turn it over for long as obviously its not normal).
What do I do know?

Hi,
The 26L filled the tank to the brim so I'm guessing there was 44L of diesel.

You are more than likely looking at a system flush , if I remember rightly the percentage ratio is a lot less than the 28% or so that you have . You might get away with it if you drain the tank and then fill full with diesel , but that is assumiing that no damage is already done to the engine .

if you are a member of the AA, i think they will drain it for you. a mate did it to his alfa, cost him about £200 from memory for them to come out, drain it and then refill again.

best of luck

Right,
I read a bit about this now. I'm goign to drain the tank - however hard it is. How do I flush the lines or is it a case of disconnecting the pipe on the injector pump and flushing up to here? From what I read the system is self priming - so from here is it just start the car (after changing the filters)
